Malta, Bosnia Herzegovina share spoils in Under-21 friendly

Malta and Bosnia Herzegovina shared the spoils in a goalless draw in an Under-21 international friendly match at the National Stadium on Wednesday. A friendly match which forms part of Silvio Vella’s side ahead of the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers which kick-off in September.

The locals had a fine start, going close to taking the lead on the 8th minute when Jan Busuttil sent Zachary Brincat through but the latter’s effort hit the upright with the goalkeeper beaten.

On the half-hour, the Malta goalkeeper performed a fine save in two attempts on a direct freekick by Zinedin Mustedanagic.

Two minutes in the second half, Bosnia-Herzegovina was also unlucky to hit the foot of the upright when Haris Hajdarevic’s low shot from outside the area was not held by goalkeeper Andreas Vella

The visitors maintained the pressure for the rest of the second half although on the 76th minute, in an isolated counter-attack, Zachary Brincat hit the side netting following a good run on the left flank.
