Comfortable win for Mosta

Mosta kicked-off their Premier League campaign with a most comfortable 4-0 win over Tarxien Rainbows at the National Stadium on Saturday.

The Blues were a superior side throughout the ninety minutes and although they only managed to break the deadlock late in the first half, from then onwards, they never looked in danger of dropping any points, adding three goals during the second half.

Edin Murga, Weverton, Nikita Kotlov, Momodou Salieu and Matias Muchardi were making their debut for Mosta along with substitute Christian Grech.

Tarxien, on the other hand, had coach Marko Glumac making his debut along with goalkeeper Rudy Briffa, Brandon Muscat, Aleksa Andreijic, Stiv Shaba and Misael Miranda Gomez.  

Mosta, on the other hand, had Edin Murga, Weverton Gomes,Nikita Kotlov, Momodou Salieu and Matias Muchardi making their debut. 

Mosta managed to take the lead on the 40th minute thanks to a powerful header by Tyrone Farrugia following a cross from the left by Matias Muchardi.

The Blues doubled the score on the 56th minute when off a cross from the left by Momodou Jallow, Nikita Kotlov hit home from an ideal position in front of the goalkeeper.

Three minutes later, Mosta made it 3-0 thanks to Edin Murga who concluded a good run on the left with a diagonal shot from inside the area which beat Rudy Briffa.

Ten minutes from time, Momodou Salieu Jallow scored the fourth goal, beating Briffa from close range after receiving a pass by Kotlov from the left.
