Wanderers salvage a point at the death

Sliema Wanderers earned their first point in the BOV Premier League as they scored in stoppage time to hold Gzira United in a 1-1 draw at the National Stadium on Saturday.

The Wanderers were in fact coming from back-to-back defeats to Balzan and Valletta. On the other hand, for the Maroons, this was the third consecutive draw after being held in draws

Gzira took the lead on the 28th minute thanks to former Sliema Wanderers striker Jefferson de Assis whose powerful shot beat goalkeeper Jake Galea.

The Wanderers equalised one minute in added time when off a cross by Jean Paul Farrugia, Haber could only deflect the ball and Juri Cisotti hit home from close range.
