After losing the Super Cup to Valletta, champions Luxol bounced back with a 4-2 win over the Citizens as the two teams met for the second time in sixt days, this time in the opening game of the Malta FA Futsal Elite League.

Luxol’s Brazilian Everton Veve scored twice with Zvezdan Vukovic and player-coach Gabriel Dobre scoring the other two goals. Mohamed Lamari scored twice for the Citizens.

Meanwhile the University of Malta registered a narrow 4-3 win over Swieqi United.

Swieqi’s Armando Djepali scored a hat-trick while for UoM, Denis Di Maio scored two and Christian Wismayer and Ivan Jovanovic one each.

One match from the Elite League will be played this week as Valletta take on Swieqi United. The game between UoM and Luxol has been postponed due to the latter’s commitments in the UEFA Futsal Champions League Main Round.
