Heavy defeat for Under-17 side to Austria

The Malta Under-17 national team suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat to Austria in the first match from Group 13 of the UEFA Under-17 Championship qualifying round at the Briskeby Stadion in Hamar, Norway on Thursday.

Yusuf Demir put Austria ahead on the 13th minute and five minutes later, Lukas Wallner doubled the score. Benjamin Kanuric made it 3-0 on the 33rd minute and four minutes later, Elias Havel scored the fourth. Late in the game, Austria added antoher two goals thanks to Din Barlov on the 83rd and Lorenzo Coco on the 92nd minute.

Malta plays the second game on Sunday against hosts Norway who defeated Bulgaria 2-1 in another match on Thursday.
