Tricky test for Hamrun Spartans

Hamrun Spartans will be aiming for a win as they take on Birkirkara at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday, kick-off at 17:15.

The Spartans share third place with Valletta, two points behind Gzira and six behind leaders Floriana and therefore a win would put them back in second place.

Hamrun registered four wins in the last five matches, beating Hibernians 2-1 on Monday.

Birkirkara, on the other hand, are desperate for points as they are currently fourth from bottom on six points. They won just one match so far, earning the other three points in draws.

Meanwhile in the first match, kick-off at 15:00, Balzan face Sirens.

Sirens lost 1-4 to Floriana and are therefore eager to return to winning ways, knowing that a win would put them in second or third place. They share fifth place with Mosta on 13 points.

Balzan, on the other hand, are currently joint-eighth with Hibernians on ten and seek a third consecutive win after beating Gudja and Tarxien in their last two outings.
