Gharghur joined Ghaxaq and Siggiewi on top the BOV Third Division as they defeated the same Siggiewi 3-1 at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday. This was the first defeat for Siggiewi this season.
Trevor Cilia put Gharghur ahead on the 17th minute and one minute from the end of the first half, Jean Leite Lopes doubled the score. Darren Galea pulled one back for Siggiewi six minutes from time but on the 89th minute, Omar Smeir made it 3-1 for Gharghur.
In another match, Marsaskala came back from two goals down to earn a point in a 2-2 draw with Mdina Knights.
Mdina took the lead thanks to Andreas Anastasi on the 36th and eight minutes in the second half, Cachel Vella doubled the score. Claudio Venuto pulled one back on the 67th and one minute in added time, Margeith Scicluna levelled matters.
Gharghur, Ghaxaq and Siggiewi lead the way with 10 points, followed by Attard and Marsaskala on 9, Kirkop 8, Msida 7, Mtarfa and Dingli 3, Sta. Venera and Mdina 2, Ta’ Xbiex 0.
