Luxol regained sole leadership in the Elite League after beating rivals Valletta 6-4 in a direct encounter which turned out to be entertaining clash at the National Sport School Pavillion.
Luxol’s captain Mark Zammit had a reason to celebrate, as he scored twice and reached the 100th goal with his club. The remaining goals were scored by Giancarlo Sammut, Carl Azzopardi, Marwan Telisi and Everton Veve.
Valletta hit back with a brace by Dusan Rakic and a goal apiece for George Frendo and Mohammed Lamari.
Swieqi United registered their first win as they beat University of Malta Futsal Team 8-5.
UoM took an early two goal lead through Melvin Borg and Ivan Jovanovic. However Swieqi’s resilience soon reaped rewards overturning the result with three goals in four minutes through Firas Aboulezz, Spanish Sergio Gonzales Morales and Aaron Montebello. However, before the interval, Melvin Borg scored his second to make it 3-3 at half-time.
In the second half, two goals in quick succession through Rodney Debono and Aboulezz gave Swieqi a comfortable lead before a UoM comeback this time with Christian Wismayer and debutant Swiss player Gabriel Buckson who levelled the score once again to make it 5-5.
However the last few seconds were a complete black-out for UoM allowing their opponents to impressively score three times in the last 100 seconds of the match through keeper Clyde Aquilina, another goal for Sergio Gonzalez Morales and a third goal for Firas Aboulezz.

Meanwhile in the Amateur League, Swieqi United Team B defeated Marsaskala Futsal 4-3 to join Zurrieq on top. Luxol Team B defeated Qormi 4-2 in another match.
