Wanderers face Hamrun Spartans as they hope to end disappointing run

After suffering four consecutive defeats, Sliema Wanderers will be hoping their disappointing run as they take on Hamrun Spartans in one of the three BOV Premier League matches in programme on Friday.

Valletta take on Senglea Athletic while Balzan face Mosta in the other two matches.

At the Hibernians Stadium, kick-off at 19:00, Valletta will be aiming at returning to winning ways in the game against Senglea Athletic.

The Citizens won just two out of the last five matches, dropping two points in a draw with Senglea in their last outing. They are currently sixth on 15 points.

Senglea, on the other hand, lie three points behind the Citizens with three wins, three draws and three defeats. In their last outing, they staged a fine comeback for a 2-2 draw with Balzan.

In the first match at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 18:00, Balzan take on Mosta.

Balzan are currently ninth on 11 points, two behind seventh-placed Mosta. They collected just one point from the last two matches following a 2-4 defeat to Sirens and then dropped another two points in a 2-2 draw with Senglea.

Mosta, on the other hand, suffered a 1-3 defeat to leaders Floriana after three wins in the previous three matches.

On the other hand, in the second match at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off a 20:15, Sliema Wanderers face Hamrun Spartans.

Lying second from bottom on just five points, the Wanderers are desperate for points. They won just one out of the nine matches played so far, losing to Sirens, Senglea, Mosta and Hibernians in their last four matches.

Hamrun, on the other hand, are unbeaten in three matches after defeating Hibernians 2-1 and draws with Birkirkara and Santa Lucia. They are currently joint-fourth on sixteen points, together with Hibernians.
