Gzira file protest after draw with Floriana over eligibility of Marcelo Dias

Gzira United have filed a protest against the result of the BOV Premier League match against Floriana on Saturday. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Maroons claim that Marcelo Dias was a non bona- fide player as he was registered by Floriana on January 31 and therefore he was not registered in time to be able to serve the one-match ban in the game against Valletta since MFA regulations state that players had to be registered by midnight of the day preceding the last working day prior to the match.

Therefore Gzira, who are asking for a 3-0 win, claim that Dias should have served the one-match ban last Saturday.
