No section winners in YFA leagues

The Council of the Youth FA met on Wednesday to decide the outcome of the 2019/2020 leagues in view of the extraordinary circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following a meeting on April 15 with the participation of nursery delegates/coaches, it was decided that a final decision would be issued at a later date. The Council finally met on Wednesday, taking a number of decision in view of the circumstances while keeping in mind the development of the players, as well as the delivery of an educational and solidarity message in such a situation.

The Youth FA decided that:
(a) Season 2019/2020 was terminated on March 8 in view of the COVID-19 situation;

(b) No team will be declared winner of any section in the Under-17 and Under-15 Leagues

(c) The ‘Most Promising Player’ and ‘Good Conduct’ awards for season 2019/20 will not be awarded

(d) All nurseries will be presented a memento for their participation and solidarity

(e) The final tables will be published as at March 8 and the draws for season 2020/21 will be based on these tables. The Council of the Youth FA said it felt that by this decision, it would be closer to taking the most realistic position while recognising the players’ and teams’ efforts during the past season.
