Mosta FC appoint Davor Filipovic as new coach

Davor Filipovic have been appointed as the new coach of Mosta FC. He replaces Mark Miller whose contract was terminated with mutual consent.

Filipovic, who had a short spell as assistant coach with Senglea Athletic and head coach of the Senglea Athletic Nursery last season, is a former player of Sliema Wanderers in the nineties. He had two spells with the Blues playing throughout season 1991/92 and in the early part of season 1998/99.

Apart from playing for Lucki-Radnik and Rijeka in his native Croatia, he played mainly in Italy. He started his coaching career at youth level in Italy and following a three-year spell with Al Ahli in Dubai, he moved back to Italy where he worked for Brescia, Lumezzane, Montorfano and Feralpisalò.

Mosta FC have so far signed Clayton Failla and Larens Vella. The club has appointed former Malta Under-21 national team manager Jason Vella as their team manager.
