Referee tests positive for COVID-19

A match official which was involved in a friendly match between Hamrun Spartans and Zejtun Corinthians on Friday tested positive for COVID-19, prompting both Hamrun and Zejtun to suspend their training sessions as a precautionary measure.

The referee is not from the pool of referees of the Malta Football Association.

Both clubs issued statements in which they said that none of their players have showed any symptoms but all of their players and technical staff members will be tested in order to eliminate any doubts.

Zejtun were due to play their first match from the Dimbros Nilmar Soccer Tournament on Monday against the Valletta Under-19 team. For this reason, the match has been postponed.
