The Convenience Shop Tournament 2020: Second wins for hosts San Gwann

The fifth edition of the annual Convenience Shop Tournament, organised by San Gwann FC, continued at the Charles Abela Stadium on Sunday with another two matches.

A goal nine minutes in the second half by Andrea Zammit gave hosts San Gwann a narrow win over Zebbug Rangers.

In another match, Qrendi bounced back from the defeat on penalties to Marsaxlokk as they beat St. George’s 4-1. An own goal on the 17th minute handed Qrendi the lead and Sebastian Perdomo scored twice on teh 50th and 52nd to increase the lead. Leeroy Bonett pulled one back on 55 minutes thanks to a penalty but Daniel Vassallo made it 4-1 on the hour

San Gwann lead the way with 7 points, followed by Qrendi on 6, Marsaxlokk 5, Zebbug and St. George’s 0.
