Gudja United sign Yuri Messias, Patrick Mota

Gudja United signed another three players, namely Brazilians Yuri de Jesus Messias and Patrick Mota Silva and goalkeeper Daniel Farrugia.

After playing for Boavista SC, Imperial FC, CS Paraibano in Brazil, twenty nine year old Yuri had moved to Malta in summer 2013 to join Mosta FC. The following season, he joined Msida St. Joseph where he spent two years before moving to Naxxar Lions where he spent another two years. Last summer, he was reportedly close to joining Valletta but eventually opted for Nadur Youngsters. In the January transfer window, he moved to Saudi Arabia where he was playing for Al Jabalain. He joined Valletta last summer but mid-way through the season moved to Frederiquense in Brazil.

Twenty eight year old defensive midfielder Patrick Mota played for 7 de Setmebro, Treze FC, Botafogo, Bragantino, America, Sampaio Correa and following a spell with PSIS in Indonesia, returned to Treze in Brazil.

Twenty-three year old goalkeeper Daniel Farrugia was on the books of Zabbar St. Patrick, Xghajra Tornado, Marsaxlokk FC, Hamrun Spartans and last season played for Senglea Athletic.

Gudja United have earlier appointed Jesmond Zammit as their new coach and Vince Carbonaro as his assistant. They signed goalkeeper Jamie Azzopardi, Dale Camilleri, Goran Adamovic, Tensior Gusman, Terence Vella and Augusto Rene Caseres and confirmed James Brincat, Aidan Friggieri, Jurgen Farrugia, Gabriel Mensah, Imanol Gonzalez Benac and Juan Andres Bolanos.
