Sliema Wanderers target second win as Sirens hope to bounce back after heavy defeat

Sliema Wanderers will be aiming for a second consecutive win on Friday as they take on Sirens in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium.

Senglea Athletic face Zejtun Corinthians in the other game.

Matches are being played behind closed doors. but fans are able to watch games thanks to the new live-streaming service being offered by the Malta Football Association at https://live.mfa.com.mt/ apart from the usual two weekly matches which are broadcast on TVM 2 and/or TSN.

Senglea Athletic FC vs Zejtun Corinthians FC, kick-off 17:00

Senglea Athletic disappointed heavily in their first outing after losing 0-4 to newly-promoted Lija Athletic despite the latter were reduced to ten men

This week, they lost Clyde Borg to Gzira United but Luis Riascos Torres joined the club from the Maroons. They also signed Ricardo Adrian Martin but they definitely need to improve if they want to start collecting points.

Zejtun, on the other hand, did quite well in their first match as they shared four goals in a 2-2 draw with Santa Lucia. The match against Senglea is therefore an opportunity for Orosco Anonam’s side to register a first win.

Sirens FC vs Sliema Wanderers FC, kick-off 21:15

Despite an impressive performance in the UEFA Europa League last month, Sirens were a disappointing lot last week, losing heavily to Hamrun Spartans. They are therefore eager to bounce back in order not to start losing ground.

The Wanderers, on the other hand, registered a fine 3-1 win over Hibernians last week and hope to repeat that performance in order to collect another three points.

Sirens will be without the suspended Ryan Scicluna but Ryan Grech will be back after serving a one-match ban.
