Matthew Guillaumier is officially a Hamrun Spartans player

Twenty two year old Malta international midfielder Matthew Guillaumier is officially a Hamrun Spartans player after they sealed his transfer from Birkirkara. He is expected to make his debut on Wednesday as the Spartans take on Senglea Athletic in a match from match day 3 of the BOV Premier League.

Guillaumier, who is a product of St. Andrews and after making his senior team debut at the age of 15 in the First Division, he had a spell with Italian side Empoli in the latter part of 2013 before returning to Malta to play on a more regular basis with St. Andrews before the turning out for the Malta Under-17 national team in the UEFA Under-17 Championship finals in May 2014. He moved to Birkirkara in January 2016.

This summer, Hamrun Spartans signed Malta international players Juan Corbolan and Joseph Mbong from Gzira United and Hibernians respectively, Ige Abdullahi Adeshina from Sirens, Marcelo Barbosa, Predrag Djordjevic, Emerson Marcelina and Elkin Serrano Valero from Nadur Youngsters, Jonathan Debono from Gudja, Arthur Oyama from Sliema, Imanol Iriberri from Hibernians together with Serbian defender Darko Gojkovic, Macedonian defender Nehar Sadiki, Nigerian striker Franklin Sasere and Italo-Argentine attacking midfielder Blas Cittadini and goalkeeper Pablo Sanchez.
