Spartans make it three wins in a row

Hamrun Spartans are the only team with maximum points after three matches as they defeated Senglea Athletic 3-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday.

Hamrun therefore move three points clear of Valletta and Hibernians although Gudja and Mosta could move second should they register wins on Thursday.

The Spartans took the lead on the 25th minute when they were awarded a penalty after goalkeeper Dorian Bugeja brought Ige Adeshina down inside the area. From the penalty spot, Predrag Djordjevic converted.

Ige Abdullahi Adeshina doubled the score as he headed the ball over the Valletta goalkeeper just before the end of the first half.

Early in the second half, Predrag Djordjevic could have added another but he was unlucky to conclude a solo effort with a shot which hit the crossbar.

Eight minutes from time, Elkin Serrano Valero sealed the issue for Hamrun with a third goal, heading the ball home following a corner by Mbong and another header by Djordjevic.
