BOV Challenge League: Stoppage time goal hands Fgura United second win

A goal three minutes in added time by Ryan Zammit handed Fgura United a narrow win over Zebbug Rangers in a match from the BOV Challenge League at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

Qormi claimed the three points in a 3-2 win over Pieta’ Hotspurs at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Danilo Perassolli put Qormi ahead on the 9th minute but James Scicluna equalised two minutes later. Luke Farrugia made it 2-1 on the 43rd. The second half of the game was delayed by about twenty minutes after a Qormi player was not feeling well. When the match resumed, Sheldon Pisani equalised for the Hotspurs on the 59th minute. However Danilo Perassolli notched the winner on the 64th.

In another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Swieqi United defeated Naxxar Lions 4-1. Ibrahim Salis converted a penalty on the 51st to put Swieqi ahead and although Joel Ellul equalised on the 58th, goals by Salis on the 82nd and 84th and Frank Temile on the 90th secured the three points for Swieqi.

On the other hand, at the Centenary Stadium, Qrendi defeated St. Andrews 2-1, courtesy of Sebastian Perdomo on the 34th and an Alex Nilsson penalty on the 49th. Luke Anthony Borg reduced the gap eight minutes from time.
