The first matches from Groups B and C of the BOV National Amateur League were played on Saturday.

In Group B, Rabat Ajax and Zabbar St. Patrick shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Luxol Stadium.

Maverick Cassar put the Magpies ahead on the 10th minute but one minute from the end of the first half, Christian Desira equalised. Jean Claude Cesare converted a penalty to hand St. Patrick the lead on the 64th but two minutes in added time, Wayne Borg levelled matters for Rabat.

The other match from Group B between Luqa St. Andrew’s and Siggiewi was postponed.

In Group C, Melita registered a dramatic 2-1 win over Kalkara United at the Sirens Stadium thanks to a goal seven minutes in added time.

Anthony Ewurum put Kalkara ahead three minutes in the second half but Jean Pierre Attard equalised on the hour. Michael Cachia converted a penalty on the 97th minute to hand Melita the three points.

In another match, Attard beat Xghajra Tornados 4-0.

An own goal on the half hour paved the way for Attard who increased the lead through Nicholas Schembri on the 61st before two late goals by Kevin Camilleri on the 86th and Christian Farrugia on the 86th sealed the issue.
