Pembroke Athleta returned to winning ways as they defeated Qormi 3-1 in a match from the BOV Challenge League at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

Abdul Abdeen Temitope converted a penalty four minutes from the end of the first half to put Pembroke ahead. Mark Anthony Borg doubled the score on the 63rd but six minutes later, Iven Zammit pulled one back for Qormi. However Joao Pedro Oliveira Santos sealed the issue for Pembroke with a goal seven minutes from time.

Pembroke lead the way with 7 points, followed by Swieqi and Fgura on 6, San Gwann and Vittoriosa on 4, Marsa, Mqabba, Qrendi Naxxar and Qormi 3, Marsaxlokk 1 while Pieta’, Zebbug, St. George’s and St. Andrews are yet to collect their first point
