BOV Women’s League: Birkirkara defeat rivals Mgarr 3-0

Birkirkara registered their third win in as many matches as they defeated rivals Mgarr United 3-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday.

Raina Giusti opened the score on the 6th minute. Gabriella Zahra made it 2-0 ten minutes in the second half and Valentina Rapa sealed the issue with a third goal on the 67th minute.

On Wednesday, Swieqi United defeated Mtarfa 6-0 at the Dingli Ground.

Demi Magrin put Swieqi ahead on the 5th minute and doubled the score on the 19th. Ruth Steer Chetham scored a third goal on the half hour and Andy Zammit Mizzi added another two minutes from the end of the first half. Four minutes in the second half, Shona Zammit increased the lead further with Demi Magrin adding another on the 57th.

Kirkop United returned to victory as they defeated Raiders Gharghur 6-0 at the Mgarr Ground on Tuesday.

Rodianne Zerafa put Kirkop ahead after just three minutes. Sarah Urpani doubled the score one minute in the second half, adding another on the 63rd. Rodianne Zerafa made it 4-0 on the 77th and after Thresa Scicluna added another two minutes later, Zerafa scored the sixth goal on the 84th.

Meanwhile the game between Kirkop United and Birkirkara in programme on Tuesday has been postponed as the Stripes will be facing Olimpia Cluj of Romania in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League at the Cluj Arena in Cluj-Napoca, kick-off at 14:00.
