Attard found no difficulty in beating Gozitan side Zebbug Rovers 7-0 at the Sirens Stadium in one of the matches from the Preliminary Round of the National Amateur Cup on Sunday.

Bledi Alla put Attard ahead on the 9th minute and Nigel Spiteri doubled the score on the 45th. Four minutes in the second half, Bledi Alla made it 3-0 and five minutes later, Adrian Paul Sammut added another. Brandon Bray scored three on the 65th, 85th and 91st minute.

Attard face Birzebbuga St. Peter’s in the next round.

In another match at the Sirens Stadium, Melita beat Luqa St. Andrew’s 2-1. A Noel Omondi penalty on the 27th and a goal by Karl Mohnani on the 45th gave Melita a two-goal lead with Alan Abdel Rahman scoring a consolation goal for Luqa thanks to a penalty on the 94th minute.

Melita face Ghaxaq in the next round.

At the Luxol Stadium, Siggiewi defeated Sta. Venera Lightnings 2-1. Aaron Agius put Siggiewi ahead on the 61st but seven minutes later, Matthew Scicluna equalised. However six minutes from time, Samuel Vella notched the winner for Siggiewi.

Siggiewi will be facing Rabat Ajax in the Round of 16.

In another match at the Luxol Stadium, Isaac Abela was the hero for Zabbar St. Patrick as he notched a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Dingli Swallows. Abela put the Saints ahead on the 6th minute, doubled the score on the 26th and added another on the 69th.

Zabbar will be meeting Mgarr in the next round.
