BOV Premier League resumes this weekend

The BOV Premier League resumes this weekend following the international break during which the Malta national team played Liechtenstein, Andorra and the Faroe Islands, winning the first two matches before being held in a draw in the decisive UEFA Nations League match against the Faroe Islands.

In the first match at the Centenary Stadium on Friday, kick-off at 17:00, Santa Lucia face Lija Athletic.

Four points separate the two teams with Santa Lucia sharing ninth place with Mosta with Lija sharing second place from bottom with Birkirkara.

Santa Lucia lost narrowly to Mosta after claiming seven points from the previous three matches thanks to wins over Floriana and Tarxien and a draw with Valletta. Lija, on the other hand, suffered four defeats in the last four matches, conceding fourteen goals and scoring just one.

Meanwhile in the second match, kick-off at 21:15, Sirens take on Zejtun Corinthians.

The St. Paul’s Bay side played two matches over the past two weeks, winning four points thanks to a draw with Tarxien and a 2-0 win over Lija and now share fourth place from bottom with the Rainbows. Zejtun lie one point ahead of Sirens and are eager to bounce back after losing narrowly to Gzira and Hibernians in their last two outings.

All matches are being played behind closed doors. but fans are able to watch games thanks to the live-streaming service being offered by the Malta Football Association at https://live.mfa.com.mt/ apart from the usual two weekly matches which are broadcast on TVM 2 and/or TSN.
