Difficult tests for joint-leaders

BOV Premier League joint-leaders Hibernians and Sliema Wanderers face difficult tests on Saturday as they face the two teams sharing third place – Hamrun Spartans and Gzira United respectively in the two matches in programme at the Hibernians Stadium on Saturday. In the other match at the Centenary Stadium, Gudja United take on Valletta.

All matches are being played behind closed doors. but fans are able to watch games thanks to the live-streaming service being offered by the Malta Football Association at https://live.mfa.com.mt/ apart from the usual two weekly matches which are broadcast on TVM 2 and/or TSN.

Lying in fifth place, just three points behind the two joint-leaders, Gudja United are one of the teams who impressed most so far. They won four out of the seven matches played, winning two out of the last three matches.

The Citizens, on the other hand, lie two points behind Gudja. They are coming from a 2-1 win over Senglea following two draws with Hibernians and Santa Lucia.

Gzira United vs Sliema Wanderers FC, kick-off 14:00 at Hibernians Stadium

The Maroons are unbeaten in six matches after losing their first game against Floriana and are coming from a draw with Hamrun Spartans. The Wanderers, on the other hand, are coming from back-to-back wins over Birkirkara and Balzan after suffering their only defeat so far to Gudja.

After claiming maximum points from their first four matches, Hamrun lost ground as they suffered a 0-2 defeat to Birkirkara, dropping another four points in draws with Balzan and Gzira. The Paolites, on the other hand, are coming from three successive wins.
