Floriana hope to close in on leading teams

Champions Floriana will be hoping to close in on joint-leaders Gzira United and Hibernians and third-placed Sliema Wanderers as they take on Balzan in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday, kick-off at 14:00.

Floriana are currently joint-seventh on 12 points, three ahead of Balzan who share the ninth place with Zejtun.

The Greens registered back-to-back wins over Senglea and Gudja in their last two outings. Balzan, on the other hand, earned just two points from the last three matches following draws with Zejtun and Hamrun and a defeat to Sliema.

Meanwhile in the second match, kick-off at 18:15, Mosta take on Senglea Athletic.

Mosta are currently eleventh on eight points while Senglea lie at the bottom of the table with just one point.

After earning just one point from the previous three matches, Mosta returned to winning ways thanks to a narrow win over Santa Lucia. Senglea, on the other hand, lost their last five matches.
