Birkirkara return to winning ways

Birkirkara scored three goals in the first half to beat in-form Gudja United 3-0 at the National Stadium on Saturday.

It was a fine performance by Andre Paus’ side which enabled them to register their second win after winning just one game out of the first six matches. For Gudja, this was the third defeat in nine matches.

The Stripes took the lead on the 28th minute when off an assist by Cain Attard, Federico Falcone hit the foot of the upright, the ball bounced onto Goran Adamovic and into the net for an own goal.

Two minutes later, Birkirkara doubled the score with a Kurt Zammit header following a corner.

Two minutes from the end of the first half, the Stripes sealed the issue with a third goal as Luke Montebello converted a penalty when Caio Henrique was brought down inside the area by Juan Andes Bolanos.
