Hamrun Spartans hope to return to winning ways

Hamrun Spartans will be hoping to return to winning ways as they take on Zejtun Corinthians in one of the four matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium and the National Stadium on Sunday.

Valletta face Tarxien, Floriana take on Mosta while Balzan meet Senglea.

All matches are being played behind closed doors. but fans are able to watch games thanks to the live-streaming service being offered by the Malta Football Association at https://live.mfa.com.mt/ apart from the usual two weekly matches which are broadcast on TVM 2 and/or TSN.

In the first match at the Centenary Stadium, Hamrun Spartans will be aiming to bring their winless streak to an end in the clash against Zejtun. The Spartans are coming from three consecutive 2-2 draws and a win on Sunday would put them in second place, on level points with Gzira, one point behind leaders Sliema. Zejtun, on the other hand, returned to winning ways last week as they defeated Sirens 4-0. Against Hamrun, they target more precious points in their bid to climb out of the danger zone.

In the second match at the Centenary Stadium, Valletta will be all out to claim the three points after disappointing in recent outings. They won just one out of the last six matches, being held in draws by Gudja and Sirens in their last two matches. They are currently sixth on 13 points. Tarxien, on the other hand, are third from bottom on five points. In their last two matches, they lost to Gudja but earned a point in a draw with Sirens.

Eslit Sala and Mihailo Jovanovic are ruled out for Valletta as they serve a one-match ban.

In the first match at the National Stadium, Balzan take on Senglea Athletic. Balzan seek precious points from this game as they are currently tenth, winning just one out of the last seven matches, earning another four points in draws. Senglea, on the other hand, are anchored at the bottom of the table with one point and are coming from six successive defeats.

Senglea could not count on the suspended Lee Galea

In the second match, Floriana face Mosta. The Greens share sixth place with Valletta but have a game in hand. They are unbeaten in three matches following wins over Senglea and Gudja and a draw with Balzan. Mosta, on the other hand, claimed maximum points from the last two matches, defeating Santa Lucia and Senglea.
