Following the resignation of Jesmond Zerafa from the post of coach, Valletta FC have announced that Gilbert Agius has been appointed as interim coach.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Valletta FC committee on Tuesday.

The former Valletta coach has served as assistant coach between 2012 and 2014 under Mark Miller and Andre Paus before being appointed as coach in the beginning of season 2014/15. He stepped down from the role in October and then acted as assistant coach with Ivan Zammit, Paul Zammit, Zoran Popovic and Danilo Doncic until April 2019 when he replaced Danilo Doncic in the final part of the season. Since last season, he served as assistant coach with Darren Abdilla, Giovanni Tedesco and Jesmond Zerafa.
