FA Trophy preliminary round, National Amateur Cup quarter-final draws

The draws for the Preliminary Round of the FA Trophy and the quarter-finals of the National Amateur Cup were held at the Centenary Hall on Thursday.

The FA Trophy 2020/21 will kick-off in the weekend of the 15th to the 17th December.

The format of the competition has been changed and as from this season, the FA Trophy is once again reserved for Premier League and Challenge League clubs with the addition of clubs from the Gozo Football League First Division. Also joining them are the four semi-finalists of the National Amateur Cup.

The draw was as follows:

Naxxar Lions vs Qrendi
St. Andrews vs Mellieha/Zurrieq
Mqabba vs San Gwann
Nadur Youngsters vs Kalkara U./Msida SJ
Xewkija Tigers vs Fgura United

The last four-drawn teams – Qormi, Sannat Lions, Xagħra United and Swieqi United – received a bye into the next round – the Round of 32.

Premier League clubs will enter the FA Trophy in the Round of 32 which will be played between the 2nd and the 4th and between the 9th and 11th February.

Meanwhile, the National Amateur Cup quarter-finals are as follows:

The National Amateur Cup quarter-finals are scheduled for December 12 and 13.
