BOV Amateur League: Two points separate six teams in Group B

Two points separate the top six teams in Group B of the BOV National Amateur League following Saturday’s games. Rabat lead the way with 10 points, followed by Zabbar on 9, Luqa, Msida, Siggiewi and Mtarfa on 8.

At the Sirens Stadium, Msida St. Joseph defeated Mtarfa 4-1.

Ciro Quaranta put Msida two goals ahead with a brace on the 5th and the 14th. Fabio Muscat made it 3-0 on the 26th and Kurt Zahra added another two minutes from the end of the first half. Alejandro Brincat scored a consolation goal for Mtarfa eight minutes in the second half.

In another match, Zabbar St. Patrick and Siggiewi shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, goals by Ethan Goodman on the 37th and Sam Vella on the 72nd.

In Group A, at the Luxol Stadium, Ghaxaq held Mellieha in a goalless draw while Marsaskala and Ta’ Xbiex earned a point each in a 1-1 draw, goals by Abubakar Bello-Osagie on the hour for Marsaskala and Matthew Agius on the 87th.

In Group C, at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Attard returned to winning ways as they defeated Kalkara United 5-0 thanks to goals by Nicholas Schembri on the 32nd, Bledi Alla on the 40th, Nicolai Sammut on the 42nd and Nicholas Schembri once again on the 45th. Seven minutes in the second half, Nigel Spiteri made it 5-0.

In another match, Kirkop United defeated Sta. Venera Lightnings 3-0, courtesy of Andy Portelli on the 34th, Lincoln Micallef on teh 76th and Michael Theuma on the 92nd.
