Mosta, Valletta share spoils in 2-2 draw

Mosta and Valletta shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Hibernians Stadium on Wednesday.

The Citizens who were chasing their first win in over a month following two draws and two defeat seemed heading towards victory after taking a two-goal lead but Mosta fought back and scored twice to level matters. The Blues join Gzira United in fifth place on eighteen points, four ahead of Valletta.

Valletta took the lead on the 10th minute thanks to a Mario Fontanella penalty after the Italian striker was brought down inside the area by Most goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi.

Five minutes later, off a cross by Eslit Sala, Taisei Marukawa controlled the ball, advanced upfield and into the area before slotting past the Mosta goalkeeper.

Mosta reduced the gap on the 25th minute through Zachary Brincat who concluded a solo effort with a powerful drive which gave Yenz Cini no chance.
