Hibernians face Birkirkara test

Hibernians will be aiming for maximum points on Sunday as they take on Birkirkara in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium.

Following a shock defeat to Sirens, the Paolites moved back on track thanks to back-to-back wins over Santa Lucia and Gzira United and now lie one point ahead of Hamrun and Sliema.

Birkirkara, on the other hand, are unbeaten in four matches after three wins over Gudja, Tarxien and Senglea and a draw with Balzan. They are currently joint-tenth on 14 points.

In the second match, Floriana take on Sliema Wanderers.

Lying in seventh place but with two games in hand, compared to most teams, the Greens hope to continue building over the fine 3-0 win over Valletta in their last outing. They won three out of the last five matches.

The Wanderers are currently joint-second one point behind Hibernians. They lost 0-2 to Hamrun in their last outing – their third defeat in seven matches.
