Mosta extend positive run to eight matches

Mosta extended their unbeaten run to eight matches following a 2-2 draw with Sirens at the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday.

The Blues are now alone in fourth place on 23 points, five behind leaders Sliema. Sirens, on the other hand, join Floriana in tenth place on 16.

Making his debut for Sirens was new coach Giovanni Tedesco.

The St. Paul’s Bay side took the lead on the 38th minute when Samba Tounkara blocked a clearance by Tyrone Farrugia and sent Wilfried Domoraud through with the latter advancing into the area before beating Mafoumbi with a powerful rising shot.

Three minutes later, Mosta equalised thanks to Rafael Morisco whose first time effort from close range, following a corner from the right by Failla, beat Montfort.

Mosta went 2-1 ahead one minute in added time when Christ Evo Ememe received a cross from the left and beat Montfort with a shot from the edge of the area.

Five minutes in the second half, Sirens levelled matters thanks to Wellingto de Oliveira who received an assist by Samba Tounkara and beat the Mosta goalkeeper from outside the area.
