Seven Premier League players suspended

Seven Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Kurt Zammit (Birkirkara), Aidan Friggieri and Patrick Silva Mota (Gudja), Emerson Marcelina (Hamrun), Neil Micallef and Leon Muscat (Lija) and Joseph Zerafa (Valletta) were all banned for one match.

Sliema Wanderers goalkeepers’ coach Mark Vella was suspended for one year while Birkirkara official Nicholas Grima was suspended for two matches

In the Challenge League, Leighton Grech (Marsa), Gareth Barone and Christian Degabriele (Marsaxlokk), Neil Falzon (Mqabba), Erikys da Silva Ferreira Silva (Naxxar), Joseph Farrugia (Vittoriosa) and Shaun Bugeja (Zebbug) were banned for one match.

In the National Amateur League, Rio Micallef (Ghaxaq), Aidan Agius Gilford (Kalkara), Noel Omondi (Melita) and Jake Lovegrove (Xghajra) were handed a one-match ban. Ghaxaq official Alan Picco was also suspended for one match.
