Swieqi United kept the pace with Marsa and closed in on leaders Pembroke Athleta as they defeated Qrendi 5-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in one of the two matches from the BOV Challenge League in programme on Wednesday.

Jeremy Micallef put Swieqi ahead on the 9th minute and Ibrahim Salis doubled the score two minutes later. Seven minutes in the second half, Frank Temile extended the lead with Micallef adding another on the 75th and Luke Zammit making it 5-0 four minutes later.

At the Luxol Stadium, St. Andrews held Marsaxlokk in a 1-1 draw. 

Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza put Marsaxlokk ahead on the 34th but Joseph Farrugia equalised on the 59th minute when he converted a penalty.
