Hibernians target top spot

Hibernians could move top of the BOV Premier League table should they beat bottom-placed Senglea Athletic in one of the two matches in programme at the Hibernians Stadium on Saturday.

The Paolites are currently joint-third on 26 points with Mosta, two behind joint-leaders Hamrun and Sliema, and therefore a win against Senglea would put them on top with 29 points. They won three out of the last four matches, defeating Balzan 2-1 in their last outing.

Senglea, on the other hand, lost eleven out of the thirteen matches played so far, suffering four consecutive defeats in their last four matches.

Meanwhile in the other match, Balzan take on Sirens. Two teams who are eager to claim the three points in order to climb out of the danger zone.

Sirens are joint-tenth with Floriana on 16 points while Balzan are fourth from bottom, three points behind them.

The St. Paul’s Bay side won just one out of their last four matches, losing 2-4 to Birkirkara earlier this week. Balzan, on the other hand, failed to win any of their last ten matches.

All matches are being played behind closed doors. but fans are able to watch games thanks to the live-streaming service being offered by the Malta Football Association at https://live.mfa.com.mt/ apart from the usual two weekly matches which are broadcast on TVM 2 and/or TSN.
