Predrag Djordjevic puts Spartans five points clear

A goal by Predrag Djordjevic handed leaders Hamrun Spartans a narrow win over Sirens at the Centenary Stadium on Friday. A win which puts Mark Buttigieg’s side five points clear of Hibernians and six ahead of Sliema Wanderers before the latter two face each other in a direct clash on Saturday.

The Spartans therefore registered a fifth consecutive win to extend their positive run to ten matches.

Sirens, on the other hand, suffered a third win in four matches. They remain tenth on 19 points.

Hamrun scored the all-important goal eleven minutes from time when off a corner from the left by Ailton Soares, Predrag Djordjevic headed the ball home from close range.
