Luxol Futsal bow out of UEFA Futsal Champions League despite brave display

Luxol Futsal were eliminated from the UEFA Futsal Champions League round of 32 after losing 2-3 to Dobovec of Slovenia at the University of Malta Sports Hall on Saturday.

It was a brave display by the local champions as they faced a team which is ranked ninth.

Celino Alves put Luxol ahead on the 2nd minute but Luke Peric equalised on the 16th. However three minutes later, Everton Vevé restored the lead for Luxol.

Three minutes in the second half, Luka Peric restored equilibrium for the Slovenian side. With less than a minute to go, Tihomir Novak notched the winner for Dobovec.
