Hibernians leave it for the second half to beat Gudja

Hibernians scored four in the second half as they defeated Gudja United 4-1 at the Centenary Stadium.

For Gudja, this was third defeat in four matches but they still sit comfortably in a mid-table position.

Following a goalless first half, Hibernians took the lead on the 50th minute when off an assist from the left by Degabriele, Dunstan Vella slotted past goalkeeper Glenn Zammit.

Jake Grech converted a penalty on the 53rd minute to double the score after he was floored inside the area by Goran Adamovic.

Nine minutes later, Jurgen Degabriele received a perfect pass from the right by Jake Grech and beat the Gudja goalkeeper with an angled shot to put Hibernians three goals ahead.

Five minutes from time, Jurgen Degabriele scored a fourth goal, tapping the ball home from close range after Glenn Zammit saved partially a freekick from the right by Jose Wilkson Teixeira.

One minute in added time, Gudja pulled one back as Augusto Caseres intercepted a pass by Sergio Raphael and served Elton da Silva who controlled before hitting low past Calleja Cremona.
