Balzan turn defeat into victory

Balzan collected three important points as they came from behind to defeat Mosta 4-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.

A win which enables Balzan to join Floriana on the 19-point mark as they now share the fourth place from bottom. Mosta, on the other hand, suffer a third consecutive defeat to remain sixth.

The Blues managed to take the lead on the 25th minute when Zachary Brincat released Christ Evo Ememe on the right and the latter hit low past goalkeeper Mafoumbi.

Four minutes from the end of the first half, Balzan levelled matters when off a Djuric corner from the left, Aleksa Andrejic headed home past goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi.

One minute in added time, Balzan took the lead when off a cross from the left, a erratic clearance by Duane Bonnici put Milan Andrejic in an excellent position to slam the ball home from close range.

Ten minutes in the second half, Milan Djuric served Aleksa Andrejic on the left and the latter beat Mafoumbi with a diagonal shot.

Balzan made it 4-1 on the 70th when Tyrone Farrugia brought Stefan Dimic down inside the area and from the penalty spot, Milan Djuric converted.
