Hamrun march on thanks to narrow win over Senglea

Hamrun Spartans extended their unbeaten record to thirteen matches as they registered a seventh win in eight matches, defeating Senglea Athletic 1-0 at the National Stadium on Saturday.

The Spartans therefore stay two points clear of Hibernians and ten points ahead of Gzira United and Sliema Wanderers, who, however, have two games and one game in hand respectively.

Senglea, on the other hand, suffered their eighth consecutive defeat as they continue to chase their first win after seventeen matches.

The Spartans scored the all-important goal on the 26th minute when Joseph Mbong headed the ball home following a cross by Ailton Jorge dos Santos Soares from the left.
