BOV Challenge League: Marsa, Pembroke march on

Leaders Marsa and second-placed Pembroke Athleta continue to march on in the BOV Challenge League as they both registered wins on Sunday.

At the Centenary Stadium, Marsa defeated Naxxar Lions 3-0.

Lydon Micallef put Marsa ahead on the 19th minute and in the dying minutes, goals by Leighton Grech on the 87th and Ian Zammit on the 94th sealed the issue.

Pembroke Athleta defeated Qormi 4-0 at the Centenary Stadium.

A brace by Abdeen Temitope Abdul on the 6th and 8th gave Pembroke a comfortable early lead with Peter Paul Sammut adding another on the 17th. Five minutes from time, Lawrence Chiedozie made it 4-0.

Marsaxlokk registered a most comfortable 6-0 win over Mqabba at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Rundell Winchester put the Southseasiders ahead on the 7th and after Neil Falzon committed an own goal on the half-hour, Winchester made it 3-0 three minutes later. Thirteen minutes in the second half, Bradley Sciberras increased the lead with Dennis Cartella scoring a fifth on the 65th and Pablo Cesar Doffo making it 6-0 on the 77th.
