Nine Premier League players suspended

Nine Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

John Mintoff of Sliema Wanderers was banned for three matches while Cain Attard (Birkirkara), Brandon Paiber (Floriana), Steve Borg (Gzira), Gonzalo Nicolas Virano (Lija), Tyrone Farrugia and Gianluca Sciberras (Mosta), Victor Luiz Prestes Filho (Santa Lucia) and Matthew Tabone (Tarxien) were suspended for one match.

Mintoff will miss Sliema’s next three games against Valletta, Senglea and Gudja. Steve Borg will miss the game against Gudja, Virano and Tabone are ruled out of Lija vs Tarxien, Cain Attard the match against Zejtun, Paiber and Prestes Filho the clash between Floriana and Santa Lucia, Farrugia and Sciberras will miss the game against Gzira.

In the BOV Challenge League, Philip Chircop and Francesco Gusman (Marsa), Mead Mifsud (Naxxar), Clyde Bouvet (Pieta’), Steven Schembri (Qrendi) and Ibrahim Salis (Swieqi) ere banned for one match while Ryan George Camilleri (Gharghur), Danny Claridge (Kirkop), Jean Claude Galea (Marsaskala), Kurt Grixti (Mdina), Jacob Farrugia (Mellieha), Joseph Paul Zammit (Mgarr), Matthew Borg and Alexander Cauchi (Msida), Kurt Tanti (Rabat) and Daniel Debono (Zurrieq) were all suspended for one match in the BOV Amateur League.
