Alex Satariano hat-trick lifts Wanderers

Alex Satariano notched a hat-trick as Sliema Wanderers came from behind to beat Senglea Athletic 3-1 at the National Stadium on Saturday.

This was therefore the third consecutive positive result for the Wanderers to move fourth although fifth-placed Birkirkara have a game in hand.

Senglea took the lead on the 35th minute when a freekick from the Igor Misan created havoc inside the area with Dibola Diwoto Junior hitting the upright and Freud Gnindokponou placing the ball at the back of the net off the rebound.

Three minutes later, Sliema levelled matters when off a cross by Edmond Agius, Sergio Uyi, in an attempt to clear the ball into safety, headed the ball into the direction of Alex Satariano who controlled before hitting low past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.

Ten minutes in the second half, Alex Satariano put the Wanderers ahead for the first time, hitting home past Farrugia following a cross by Alessandro Milesi.

Alex Satariano completed his hat-trick on the 68th minute, beating Farrugia with a low shot from inside the area when served by Juri Cisotti from the left.
