Early second half goals hand Hibernians the three points

Hibernians extended their positive run to eight matches with a fourth consecutive win as they scored twice early in the second half to beat Mosta 2-0 at the Hibernians Stadium on Saturday.

A win which keeps the Paolites two points behind leaders Hamrun. Mosta, on the other hand, suffer their fifth consecutive league defeat.

Following a goalless first half, Hibs took the lead on the 48th minute when goalkeeper Christopher Mafoumbi’s erratic clearance after receiving a back-pass saw Bjorn Kristensen take the loose ball and hit home with a shot from outside the area.

Four minutes later, Hibernians doubled the score thanks to Andrei Agius who received a cross by Jurgen Degabriele and beat the Mosta goalkeeper with a diagonal shot.

Tiago Adan Fonseca went close to adding another on the 64th but had a first-time effort hitting the crossbar.
