Floriana return to winning ways

Floriana registered their first win in over two months as they defeated bottom-placed Senglea Athletic 2-0 at the Hibernians Stadium.

A win which puts Floriana on level points with Gudja United and Zejtun Corinthians although the latter two have two games and one game in hand.

Led by assistant coach Darren Vella following the resignation of John Buttigieg, the Greens took home three precious points after earning just four points in draws in the last ten matches.

Senglea, on the other hand, continued to chase their first win after collecting just two points from nineteen matches.

Floriana took the lead on the 31st minute when off a Diego Venancio freekick from the right, Kristian Keqi headed home with the ball being deflected by Igor Misan past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.

Six minutes in the second half, the Greens doubled the score when Ryan Camenzuli pounced on a short back pass by Zachary Cassar for the goalkeeper from midfield and advanced upfield, rounded the goalkeeper and deposited the ball inside the empty net.
