Valletta register important win over Santa Lucia

Valletta bounced back from the mid-week defeat to Birkirkara as they claimed three important points in a narrow win over Santa Lucia at the National Stadium on Sunday.

A win which enables the Citizens to move sixth, one point ahead of Santa Lucia and Mosta, although the Blues will be facing Sirens in another match on Sunday.

Santa Lucia, on the other hand, suffer the second defeat in four matches.

Valletta scored the all-important goal three minutes in the second half when off a cross by Matteo Piciollo, Enmy Pena Beltre beat Monfort with a great first time effort from the right.
