BOV Challenge League: Marsa stay three points clear as top-of-the-table clash ends all square

Marsa maintained a three point lead on top the BOV Challenge League after the top-of-the-table clash with Pembroke Athleta at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday ended in a 1-1 draw.

Patrick Jean Teixeira Maia put Marsa ahead on the 28th minute but Joseph Jojo Ogunnupe equalised on the 54th thanks to a penalty.

A Gaetano Gesualdi penalty nine minutes in the second half handed Zebbug Rangers a narrow win over Pieta’ Hotspurs at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. A win which enables them to keep the pace with San Gwann and close in on Swieqi United in the battle for third place.

A brace by Alexander Nilsson handed Qrendi a 2-1 win over Fgura United in another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Nilsson put Qrendi ahead on the 10th minute and doubled the score thanks to a penalty on the 54th but David Nkumu Mbala pulled one back thanks to a penalty on the 66th.

In a match at the Centenary Stadium, Mqabba and Vittoriosa Stars shared the spoils in a goalless draw while the other clash between Marsaxlokk and St. George’s was postponed.
