Luqa St. Andrew’s were crowned champions of the BOV National Amateur League after defeating Melita 2-1 in the final match of the championship play-offs at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

Keith Vella converted a penalty on the 34th minute to put Luqa ahead but four minutes in the second half, Michael Cachia equalised thanks to another penalty. However Chibuzor Lucky Nwaogu notched the winner on the 77th.

The four teams to be promoted to the BOV Challenge League are champions Luqa St. Andrew’s who won Group B, Group A winners Mgarr United, Group C winners Melita and promotion play-offs winners Rabat Ajax.
